Recently, school bullying becomes a serious problem which affects students? quality of life, inflicting psychological, emotional, and physical damage. School bullying can be defined as any negative actions repeatedly inflicted by a stronger student or student gang toward another student. Bullying might be classified in a variety of ways including physical assaults and psychological or verbal harassment. Several studies have shown that the prevalence of bullying is high in many countries. Causes of bullying are multiple and are associated with the individual, but also linked to the socio-family environment. There are several prevention and intervention programs, evidenced by research, that assist concerned parties with appropriate strategies for reducing the bullying problem. |

In total, 1,592 students from 10 schools in the academics year 2010 participated based on multi?stage random sampling. Data were analyzed by index of item objective congruence, discrimination power index, coefficient of internal consistency of reliability coefficient, normalized T-score, and percentile rank. The study found that the 26 items on the first screening inventory form and 28 items on the second screening inventory form were valid. These two screening inventories had significant discrimination power, high reliability, and equally provided 100 percent predictive validity in identifying those students who had high-risk behavior that would expose them to bullying. |

The qualitative study collected data through in-depth interviews with 15 teachers and school personnel, 15 bully students, 15 students being bullied by others, and 15 parents and guardians. Content analysis was carried out using logic, concepts, theories, and research reports along with the context and grounded theory methods. The study found that in Islamic private schools in Pattani province, there were three types of bullying behavior: physical bullying, verbal bullying, and social bullying. Most of the bullying behavior happened in classrooms, restroom areas, canteens, playgrounds, and stadiums. |
