The number of returned usable responses to the questionnaire was 252(100.0%). The results indicated that there was a great need for information about tourist attractions and job applications while the history of Christianity was needed the least. There was little difference in English culture content needs among the different groups of students. In terms of teaching methodology, the students wanted the teacher to explain the culture contents along with explaining the and also to give comparisons and contrasts with Thai culture. The teaching materials they wanted most were English magazines, authentic materials, such as application forms and newspapers. Supplementary materials they would like to use were movies, audio tapes and video tapes. They also would like to have study tours to English speaking environments, i.e. Embassies and international schools. |
