หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Integration of Resistant Mutants with Neem Extract in Cotton Insect Control) ผู้เขียน:P. Hormchan, A. Wongpiyasatid, S. Piyapuntawanon สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractThe studies at Suwan Farm during 1997-98 and 1998-99 were set up to show exp.2 with the application of neem extract integrated with cotton resistant variety lines as the insect control method to give better yields than those obtained in exp.1 using resistant plant as principal control alone. AP1 and AP2, the mutant lines possessing antibiosis mechanism against some major insect pests of cotton and SR60, the recommended variety were used in the test. It was found that the average amount of jassids on the mutants and SR60 in exp.1 did not significantly differ from those in exp.2 while there are significant differences between the numbers of bollworm and cotton plant bug on each variety/line of both tests. The comparison of average seed yields also revealed highly significant increase of seed weight in AP1 and AP2 in exp.2 whereas the increase in SR60 was not that high. Concerning fiber quality parameters, fiber length of all variety/line in both experiments were in medium group with their uniformities and micronaires to be very high and desirable respectively. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Toxic Effect of Ethiopian Neem Oil on Larvae of Cattle Tick, Rhipicephalus pulchellus Gerstaeker.) ผู้เขียน:Ismail Mohamed Handule, นางชิตาภา เกตวัลห์, รองศาสตราจารย์, Solomon Gebre สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractThis study was conducted to test susceptibilities of cattle tick, Rhipicephalus pulchellus Gerstaeker after exposure to neem oil. The ultimate goal was to determine the bioacaricidal activity of Ethiopian neem extract under laboratory conditions for the control of R. pulchellus larvae. The LT50 values were determined for populations from each subsequent treatment by probit analysis and significant increases (chi-square test, P>0.01) occurred from one concentration to the next. There was approximately a 5.4-fold increase in the LT50 when concentration of 40% neem oil (LT50 = 0.184) was compared to 10% neem oil (LT50 = 1.01). In addition, serial concentrations of neem oil were applied and knock down concentration (KC50) was obtained (KC50 = 13.43). Baseline information from these experiments will serve as a guide for future studies on susceptibilities of tick, R. pulchellus populations. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Efficacy of Cypermethrin, Neem Extract and Bacillus thuringiensis for Controlling Insect Pests of Vegetable Soybean) ผู้เขียน:Md. Abdullah, Ouab Sarnthoy, Somchai Isichaikul, ดร.ศิริพรรณ ตันตาคม, รองศาสตราจารย์ สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractField experiments were conducted during dry and wet seasons (1999-2000) at Kamphaeng Saen Campus of Kasetsart University, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand to evaluate the efficacy of cypermethrin 10 EC, neem extract (Azadirachtin 0.1%) and Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki (53,000 SU/mg) in controlling the major insect pests of vegetable soybean. Melanagromyza sojae, Spodoptera litura, Spodoptera exigua, Helicoverpa armigera, Lamprosema indicata, Etiella zinckenella and Bemisia tabaci were the most abundant species in both seasons. Insecticides were sprayed at 10 days interval until harvest. Cypermethrin showed significantly better control among the treatments. Neem extract moderately suppressed the insect pests with statistically significant efficacy over the control. B. thuringiensis var. kurstaki showed less efficacy than neem extract but exhibited statistically significant efficacy over the control in most cases. Highest yield was recorded in cypermethrin treated plot (9.83 t/ha) followed by neem extract (8.39 t/h), B. thuringiensis var. kurstaki (7.98 t/ha) and control (6.22 t/ha) in dry season whereas yields were 5.83, 4.83, 4.0 and 2.83 t/ha for cypermethrin, neem extract, B. thuringiensis var. kurstaki and control in wet season, respectively. Additionally, Menochilus sexmaculatus and spider were found less in cypermethrin treated plots whereas in other treatments they were significantly higher in number. |
