Abnormal hematologic findings included anemia, leucopenia with absolute lymphopenia and monocytosis. Distemper inclusions could be detected in young erythrocytes, 45% of white blood cells and some platelets. These findings confirmed hematogenous spreading canine distemper virus to various organs and definitive diagnosis of canine distemper. |
