หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Chitobiase, Proteinase, Glycogen and some Trace Elements during Molting Cycle of Mud Crab (Scylla serrata Forsk?l 1775)) ผู้เขียน: ดร.จินตนา สและน้อย, รองศาสตราจารย์ , Jitlada Bootpugdeethum, ดร.มิ่งขวัญ มิ่งเมือง, รองศาสตราจารย์ , นางอมรา ทองปาน, รองศาสตราจารย์ สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractActivity profiles of chitobiase, proteinase and the content of glycogen and trace elements in gill, integument and haemolymph of mud crab (Scylla serrata) during molting cycle were determined. Chitobiase activity was at the highest level of 0.5467?0.0136 ?mol min-1mg protein-1 at 1-week premolt (D2) in gill and at 0.1413?0.0026 ?mol min-1 mg protein-1 in integument but reached the maximum level of 0.0851?0.0123 ?mol min-1mg protein-1 at 24-h postmolt (A2.2) in haemolymph. The high activities of proteinase, on the other hand, were found to be 0.6511 ? 0.0934 units mg protein-1 at 7-day postmolt (B2.3), 0.1553 ? 0.0419 units mg protein-1 at 1-week premolt (D2), and 0.1827?0.0110 units mg protein-1 at 12-h postmolt (A2.1) in gill, integument and haemolymph, respectively. These two enzymes are needed for carapace degradation as well as for chitin synthesis in preparation for carapace formation. For glycogen content, high accumulation of glycogen in the integument was observed throughout the molting cycle except at intermolt (C). In gill, however, the level of glycogen was high only before molting began (D2) while glycogen content in hepatopancreas and muscle, energy reserve tissues, was rather fluctuated but reached the maximum levels at 24-h postmolt (A2.2). As for trace elements, copper, a major component of hemocyanin, was found at high level at intermolt stage (C) in all tissues while magnesium, involving both nerve conduction and muscle contraction, showed the highest content at 7-day postmolt (B2.3) and 1-week premolt (D2) in integument and haemolymph, respectively. On the other hand, zinc showed high content at premolt stage in haemolymph and early postmolt stage in gill supporting its function in calcification. The results confirmed the roles of chitobiase, proteinase, glycogen, and trace elements which corresponded well with molting stages and physiological changes of mud crab. |

หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Preliminary Trials for the Response of Guatemala Corn to Sulfur and Trace Elements in Red Brown Earth Soil of Thailand1 ) ผู้เขียน: นายสมเจตน์ จันทวัฒน์, ศาสตราจารย์ , นายปิยะ ดวงพัตรา, ศาสตราจารย์ , นายสรสิทธิ์ วัชโรทยาน, ศาสตราจารย์ , Wade W. McCall สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractThailand is located in the general area where soil are highly weathered, for the region is tropical and relatively humid. Soils are quite low in many essential nutrient elements. The newly opened land, when cultivated for some years, tends to become depleted in fertility rather rapidly. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium have been reported elsewhere to be the first elements to become limiting in crop production on most soil. Consequently the majority of research concerning the crop production improvement in Thailand is concentrated primarily on the problems of raising the levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. |

หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Morphology and Haemolymph Composition Changes in Red Sternum Mud Crab (Scylla serrata)) ผู้เขียน: Anchanee Sangcharoen, นางอมรา ทองปาน, รองศาสตราจารย์ , ดร.มิ่งขวัญ มิ่งเมือง, รองศาสตราจารย์ , ดร.จินตนา สและน้อย, รองศาสตราจารย์ สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractCharacteristic differences between the abnormal, red sternum mud crab compared to those of normal one were clearly seen. A red sternum mud crab had soft carapace, red chelae and joint, pale hepatopancreas and gill, loose muscle, while its haemolymph contained milky unclotted substance. SDS-PAGE analysis of protein in haemolymph showed an intense band of oxyhemocyanin (~75 kDa) in normal crab, but none in red sternum crab as also confirmed by the absence of 340 nm absorbance of oxyhemocyanin. As for trace elements, the content of copper and zinc in haemolymph was found to be three and four times higher than those in normal crab but calcium, magnesium and iron were higher in red sternum crab. These results indicated that red sternum mud crab had lost oxyhemocyanin and some important elements in haemolymph which were necessary to maintain the normal morphological features of this mud crab. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Contents of Elements in Some Flooded Soils to Their Origins in Northeast Thailand) ผู้เขียน: ดร. Gilkes สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractThe contents of elements in two flooded soils in Northeast Thailand were studied. Aeric Endoaqualf (P1) was derived from fine-grained sedimentary rocks and Typic Endoaquert (P2) developed on basalt. The concentration of elements (Ti, Fe, Ca, Mg, K, Mn, P, Li, Cs, As, Cr, V, Ni, Rb, Cu, Zn, Ga, Co, Pb, Mo, Zr, U, Sr) in the fine-earth, sand, silt and clay fractions was measured by using XRF and ICP-MS techniques. The results revealed that both soils were deep and alkaline. The 2:1 phyllosilicate clay dominated in clay fraction with minor amount of kaolin. Illite and smectite were major clay minerals in P1 and P2, respectively, which were influenced by their parent materials. Authigenesis of clay and carbonate was evident. The amount of elements was quite low throughout the profiles. This was probably due to the shallow water table and these soils had been saturated with water where the reducing condition restricted the weathering rate of the parent rocks. Additionally, there was limited vertical leaching as compared to lateral water flow. However, P1 showed a larger variation of element compositions than did P2, reflecting a more uniform composition of basalt. The distribution of elements showed that their concentrations were generally high in the clay fraction indicating that the clay played an important role as a reservoir for these elements and heavy metals in soils. |
