The milk fat concentration ranged between 4.2 and 14.1% and rather varied. The milk protein and lactose concentration ranged between 2.1 and 3.1%, then 6.9 and 7.8% respectively, their trends stayed fairly constant. The total solid concentration ranged between 15.9 and 24.3% and also rather varied according mainly to fat percentage. The range of solid not fat concentration was fairly stable through the studying period. this obtaining datas give basic informations about elephant milk compositions during early lactation. Moreover, this knowledge will be useful for the development of baby elephant milk replacer in the frture. |
