The engine speed, traveling speed with various transmission gear 0peration pick - up chain, cutter blade and delivery chain speed with low and high PTO operation were measured and recorded as well as its operation with variety of he plant and field efficiency. Four varieties of sugarcane about 10 months old which were planted in the same field and treatment condition were harvested. The harvester performed the field efficiency of 0.82 rai/hr at low PTO operation and 1.3 rai/hr. at high PRO operation with tonnage of 7 t/hr. at low PTO operation and 14.5 t/hr. at high PTO operation respectively. The percentage of splitted stalk and remained stalk cut were determined. |

The rice variety of Luang Pathan which had 13.6% grain moisture content, 10.2% straw moisture content, 60.6% grain ratio and 71 cm cut crop length was used. Grain output of the thresher was investigated cracked grain and checked the braken grain in milling test grain. From the result of the test, total losses due to broken, unthreshed and blown grain were about 1% when onload drum speed was nearly 600 rpm. The cracked grain ratio and the broken grain ratio in milled grain were increased with the rising up of the onload drum speed., At the onload drum speed of 600 rpm, the cracked and broken grain ratios were about 3% and 6% respectively. |

The fields were prepared to conventional land preparation method. The 4-row riding type Japaness transplanter had a field capacity of 0.114 ha/hr or 0.926 rai/hr with the field efficiency of 68.88% when operated at 1.79 km/hr forward speed. The percentage of missing hills, buried hills and floating hills were observed to be 1.5% 1.5% and 0.5% respectively without damaged hills. The 2-row walking type transplanter had a field capacity of 0.114 ha/hr or 0.712 rai/hr when operated at 2.14 km/hr forward speed. It had a field efficiency of 88.64% . The percentages of missing hills, buried hills and floating hills were measured to be 0.5%, 1.5% and 1.0% respectively without damaged hills. The IRRI transplanter gave the field capacity of 0.050 ha/hr or 0.312 rai/hr at 0.73 km/hr operating speed. The field efficiency was measured to be 57.66%. The percentages of missing hills, buried hill and floating hills were observed to be 11.25%, 0.83% and 0.83% respectively without damaged hills. |

The first fields was prepared using a rotavator attached to the 22 kW four wheel tractor for both first plowing and puddling operation. The second field was plowed using a conventional moldboard plow and the puddling was done using a raker attached to the two wheel walking type tractor. Planting accuracy of the transplanter was measured in these filds. The missing hills and floating hills in the first field were measured to be 6.33% and 1.33% respectively with no observed buried hills. In the second field the missing hills and buried hills were measured to be 2.33% and 2.00% respectively with no observed floating hills. The soil mechanical properties affected the trans-planter performance were also measured and discussed. |
