หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Appropriate Temperature and Time for an Accelerated Aging Vigor Test in Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) Seed) ผู้เขียน:Khin Hnin Thant, จวงจันทร์ ดวงพัตรา, ดร.จุฑามาศ ร่มแก้ว, ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractSesame is a small-seeded oil crop for which a proper method of testing seed vigor has not been successfully developed. This study was conducted to identify the appropriate combination of temperature and time for accelerated aging vigor testing of sesame. Five seed lots of sesame were used: KU 18 (2006), CPlus 2 (2006), KU 18 (2007), and CPlus 2 (2007), grown at the National Corn and Sorghum Research Center and KU 18 (Contract Farmer 2007), grown by a contract farmer. A completely randomized factorial design with four replications was used. The accelerated aging test was carried out at five different temperatures: 40, 41, 42, 43 and 44?C with six duration periods of 24, 48, 72, 96, 120 and 144 hr and a relative humidity of 100%. The results showed that accelerated aging under conditions of 42-43?C at 100 % RH for 120 hr were appropriate for an accelerated aging test for seed vigor in sesame. |

หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Studies on Fungal Load, Total Afl atoxins and Ochratoxin A Contents of Gamma-irradiated and non-irradiated Sesamum indicum Grains from Abuja Markets, Nigeria) ผู้เขียน:Emmanuel Chukuma Akueche, Samuel Toba Anjorin, Basene Iyenebowa Harcourt, Doris Kana, Esther Adeboye, Isah Shehu, Rebecca Akande, Adekunle Temitope Adeleke, Owotayo Abiodun Shonowo, Charles Adedokun Adesanmi สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractThe fungal load, total afl atoxins (B1, B2, G1 and G2) and ochratoxin A (OTA) contamination of 36 samples of Sesamum indicum L. grains from Abaji, Gwagwalada, Kubwa and Karu in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria were investigated. A total of 135 fungal isolates belonging to fi ve genera—namely, Aspergillus, Curvularia, Penicillium, Fusarium and Ascochyta—in decreasing order of prevalence were isolated from the non-irradiated grains. Only 34 isolates were obtained from the irradiated seeds at 3 kGy. Aspergillus spp. were observed in all the non-irradiated grain samples. Some fungal species were observed in irradiated grains treated with 3 kGy but none in the grains irradiated with 6–15 kGy. There was no consistent and no signifi cant (P > 0.05) reduction in the total afl atoxins and ochratoxin A contents of irradiated samples from the four markets at 3 to 12 kGy. However, all the sesame grains exposed to irradiation at 15 kGy had comparatively the least total afl atoxins and ochratoxin A contents. Multiple mycotoxin analysis and the nutritional quality of the irradiated mold-free grains should be further investigated. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Effects of Seeding Rates and Harvesting Period on Yield, Oil and Protein Content and Aflatoxin Incidence in Sesame Seed (Sesamum indicum L.)) ผู้เขียน:ดร.เอ็จ สโรบล, ศาสตราจารย์, ดร.จินดารัฐ วีระวุฒิ, รองศาสตราจารย์, นายสุรพล เช้าฉ้อง สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractA field experiment was conducted at the National Corn and Sorghum Research Center, Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima during the 2008 rainy season to investigate the effects of seeding rates and harvesting period on sesame yield, oil and protein content and the incidence of aflatoxin. A split-plot in randomized complete block (RCB) design was used, with seeding rates (4, 6, 8 and 10 kg ha-1) allocated to the main plots and harvesting periods (52, 56 and 60 days after flowering, DAF) assigned to sub-plots with four replications. There were interactions between seeding rates and harvesting periods. Seed yield was significantly affected by both seeding rates and harvesting period. Harvesting at 52 DAF produced higher seed yields at each seeding rate. The mean oil and protein content was 37.46% and 26.36%, respectively. Aflatoxin contamination in seeds was 7.58 ppb, which was less than the 20 ppb maximum limit. |
