หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : The Effect of Dry Season Supplementation of Lotus corniculatus Hay on Body and Fleece Weights of Three Sheep Breeds Grazing Natural Pasture under Ethiopian Conditions) ผู้เขียน: Aschalew Tsegahun, ดร.พรศรี ชัยรัตนายุทธ์, รองศาสตราจารย์ , ดร.ประวีร์ วิชชุลตา, รองศาสตราจารย์ , Sayan Tadsri สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractA study was conducted to investigate four levels of Lotus corniculatus hay (0, 100, 200 and 400 g/d/h) on body weight change and fiber characteristic of three dual-purpose sheep breeds of Ethiopia. The sheep were grouped based on their body weight and respective breeds and was assigned to one of the four levels of lotus hay randomly. Growth rate was significantly different (p<0.05) among the feeding levels. Rate of gain for lambs supplemented with 200 gram (5.12 kg) and 400 g lotus hay/day (5.55 kg) were similar and did not differ significantly (p>0.05), but were found to be different than the levels of 100 g lotus hay/day (3.49 kg) and the zero level (1.65 kg). Within breeds, body weight changes were observed AxM breeds gained significantly higher (p<0.05) (5.44 kg) than Menz (4.13 kg) and Tukur (2.31 kg). The live gain between Menz (4.13 kg) and Tukur (2.31 kg) was also significantly different (p<0.05). With regard to fiber characteristics, AxM lambs showed their superiority in all fiber characteristics (p<0.05) than Menz and Tukur sheep while no difference was noted between Menz and Tukur sheep in greasy and clean fiber weights. Any of the lotus levels did not alter any of the fiber characteristics. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Effects of Cassava Hay Supplementation on Antibacterial Activity of the Lactoperoxidase System in Raw Milk of Dairy Cows) ผู้เขียน: สุรีย์วรรณ พันธ์นรา, ดร.พรศรี ชัยรัตนายุทธ์, รองศาสตราจารย์ , ดร.ประวีร์ วิชชุลตา, รองศาสตราจารย์ , ดร.สมจิต สุรพัฒน์ , Uthai Kuntho, Wonganan Narongwanichakarn สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractSixteen multiparous cows in early-to-mid lactation (82.4?8.6 day in milk, DIM) were used in a completely randomized block design with repeated measurement to evaluate the effects of cassava hay (CH) supplementation on antibacterial activity of the lactoperoxidase system in raw milk. The cows were blocked into four groups based on DIM and previous milk yield. Each group was randomly fed dietary treatment twice daily for four months. Treatment diets were: T1) concentrate (control); T2) concentrate+1 kgCH/head/day; T3) concentrate+2 kgCH/head/day; and T4) concentrate+3 kgCH/head/ day. The concentrate for each treatment was formulated to provide together with CH, a daily intake of 1,830-1,940 gm protein. The cows received 25 kg/head/day of ruzi grass silage. After a 14-d adaptation period, daily milk yield was recorded and the raw milk of the cows was collected every month and analyzed for lactoperoxidase and thiocyanate concentration, standard plate, coliform, psychrotrophic and thermophilic counts. Milk yield and milk lactoperoxidase concentrations were not affected by treatments (P>0.05). Thiocyanate concentrations were higher (P<0.01) for T2, T3 and T4 than for T1. Standard plate, coliform, psychrotrophic and thermophilic counts were lower in T2, T3 and T4 compared to T1. The results showed that supplementation of cassava hay to dairy cows increased the efficiency of antibacterial activity of the lactoperoxidase system in raw milk. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Performance of Periparturient Dairy Cows Fed Alfalfa Hay in Total Mixed Ration : A Field Trial in Thailand) ผู้เขียน: ดร.ธีระ รักความสุข, รองศาสตราจารย์ , Sunthorn Rungruang2,, ดร.อาภัสสรา ชูเทศะ, รองศาสตราจารย์ , Theo Wensing สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractPerformance of 20 periparturient Holstein Friesian dairy cows fed alfalfa hay-base total mixed
rations during transition and lactation periods was studied in a commercial dairy farm. From 7 d prior to
anticipated calving date until 7 d after calving, all cows were also drenched with 400 ml of propylene
glycol once daily. Blood samples were collected at -2, 1, 2, 3 and 4 wk from parturition. Milk yields
were recorded daily, and milk samples were collected twice a week to determine milk compositions.
Compared with the concentrations at -2 wk, serum glucose and urea nitrogen concentrations decreased
whereas serum non-esterified fatty acid and ?-hydroxybutyrate concentrations increased after calving.
These results indicated that these cows entered some degrees of negative energy balance. Average milk
production during 30 d postpartum was 34.8 ? 8.7 kg/d. Average days from calving to first service was
86 ? 24 d, and 55% of 20 cows were conceived at first service. In conclusion, cows fed alfalfa hay-base
diet and drenched with propylene glycol during periparturient period could improve negative energy
balance, milk yield and conception rate. However, replacing roughages from agro-industry by product
with alfalfa hay in Thai dairy farms would depend on the economical analysis because most alfalfa hay
was imported from foreign country. |

หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Milk Yield and Milk Compositions of Lactating Cows Fed Hay and Concentrate Supplement with/without Cottonseed Cake and/or Bole (Lake Soil)) ผู้เขียน: Nega Tolla, ดร.ประวีร์ วิชชุลตา, รองศาสตราจารย์ , ดร.พรศรี ชัยรัตนายุทธ์, รองศาสตราจารย์ , Suwapong Sawsdiphanich สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractA study was conducted to investigate milk yield and milk compositions of lactating Holstein Friesian cows fed native hay and a concentrate supplement with/without cottonseed cake and/or bole. Thirty two animals with 524?54 kg average body weight were blocked by their expected due dates of calving. Soon after calving each animal was assigned in a randomized complete block design to one of the four dietary treatments of concentrate alone (C) (control), 45% of the the concentrate by weight replaced with cottonseed cake (C+CSC), concentrate plus 3% bole (C+bole) and 45% of the concentrate by weight replaced with 45% CSC plus 3% bole (C+CSC+bole). Intake of hay was significantly (p<0.05) different among treatments. Supplements, total dry matter, crude protein and metabolizable energy intake were not significantly (p>0.05) different among treatment groups. Crude protein intake in treatments C, C+CSC and C+CSC+bole were 13.4, 20.6 and 11.5% higher than the estimated daily requirement respectively, while the intake of those in treatment C+bole was nearly at requirement level. Intakes of ME for treatments groups of C, C+CSC, C+bole and C+CSC+bole were 4.4, 10.3, 9.6 and 13% lower than the estimated daily requirement respectively. There were no significant (p>0.05) milk yield differences among treatments. However, animals fed the treatment diets of C+CSC, CSC+Bole and C+CSC+Bole produced 7.4, 16.3 and 18.2% higher actual milk and 14.3, 24.2 and 25.7% higher 4% fat corrected milk than the control group respectively. Milk fat content was significantly (p<0.05) different among treatments. But milk fat yield, milk protein contents and yield were not significantly (p>0.05) differed among treatments. Lower milk protein contents were observed throughout the treatment groups than expected might be due to low non structural carbohydrate contents of the diets. Supplementing a concentrated diet with 3% bole alone was found biologically and economically profitable. However, optimum levels of CSC and bole to be included in a concentrate diet have to be assessed further. |
