The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of L. intracellularis in Thailand. A total of 2,221 blood samples from 29 swint farms from several area of Thailand were cross-sectionally collected and serum samples were stored at -20 ?c for further test by indirect immunofluorescence antibody technique (IFAT). The prevalence of L. intracellularis in this study was38.05% . The results showed that pigs in western part of Thailand were likely exposed to L.intracellularis more than other areas. Meanwhile, the specific production system, 2-site, could alleviate the exposure of L. intracellularis compared to those of the 1-site system. This study provided beneficial infomation of the disease in setting up a strategic medication for lleitis control in Thailand. |
