หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Effects of Dietary Sodium Bicarbonate Supplementation on Eggshell Quality and Hatchability in Thai Native Hens) ผู้เขียน:ดร.นิรัตน์ กองรัตนานันท์, รองศาสตราจารย์, Ratana Chotesangasa สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractAn investigation was conducted on Thai native hens to determine the effects of dietary sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) supplementation on egg production, egg and eggshell quality, fecal moisture content, plasma sodium, and hatchability performance. Two hundred and forty of 24 wk-old hens were used in this study. The birds were housed in individual cage and received 1 of 3 experimental diets. The 3 experimental diets were control layer diet, the control diet added with 1% NaHCO3, and the control diet added with 1.5% NaHCO3. The experiment was conducted for 24 weeks. There were no significant differences in feed consumption, egg weight, yolk weight, albumen weight, Haugh units or fecal moisture content among the three bird groups throughout the experimental period. However, the birds in the two groups having received the diet supplemented with NaHCO3 gave a significantly higher level of yolk color, shell weight, and shell thickness than the control hens transiently (P<0.05). Likewise, the hens received the diet added with NaHCO3 had a higher level of plasma sodium concentrations than the birds fed with control diet at 32 and 36 wk of age. A smaller, but still significant, increase in plasma pH was also observed in the fowls having consumed the diet supplemented with 1.5% NaHCO3 at 28 wk of age (P<0.05). Hatchability, viability (hatchability of fertile eggs), and body weight of the chick at hatching were not affected by the experimental diets (P>0.05). The results indicated that at moderate temperatures eggshell quality of Thai native hens could be improved by dietary supplementation with 1.5% NaHCO3. This suggested that the response was associated to bicarbonate intakes. However, the beneficial effect was transient that would be resulted from the hens having no access to feed during the dark period, irrespective of bicarbonate content, the time during which eggshell formation occured. Hatchability and viability of chicken embryos were not evident. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Evaluation of Mehlich 3 and Ammonium Bicarbonate-DTPA Extractants for Prediction of Available Zinc in Calcareous Soils in Central Thailand) ผู้เขียน:นัทฐา ทักษ์รัตนศรัณย์, ดร.จงรักษ์ จันทร์เจริญสุข, รองศาสตราจารย์, ดร.สุเทพ ทองแพ, ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์, ดร.เอ็จ สโรบล, ศาสตราจารย์ สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractThis study was conducted in order to evaluate the efficiency of Mehlich 3 and ammonium bicarbonate-DTPA (AB-DTPA) extractants for predicting available zinc (Zn) in calcareous soils in the central part of Thailand. The relationships between the amounts of Zn extracted by Mehlich 3 and ABDTPA with those extracted by DTPA (the conventional extraction method widely used in soil testing laboratories in Thailand) and those taken up by corn were elucidated. The results showed that the amount of Zn extracted by both Mehlich 3 and AB-DTPA was significantly correlated with that extracted by DTPA (r = 0.951** and r = 0.950**, respectively) and that absorbed by corn (r = 0.954** and r = 0.925**, respectively). Moreover, the coefficient of determination (r2) for the relationship between amounts of Zn taken up by corn and extracted by the three extractants was 0.845 (DTPA), 0.855 (ABDTPA) and 0.910 (Mehlich 3). Accordingly, Mehlich 3 and AB-DTPA could be used effectively for estimating Zn availability in calcareous soils in central Thailand. However, Mehlich 3 was superior to AB-DTPA. |

หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Cultivation of Spirulina sp. in Media Containing Different Concentrations of Sodium Bicarbonate) ผู้เขียน:ดร.สายชล เกตุษา, ศาสตราจารย์เกียรติคุณ, Kittipong Treetaruyanondha สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractTwo strains of Spirulina sp., SpT and SpJ, were cultivated in basal media with varying concentrations of Sodium bicarbonate, i.e., 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 g./1. Maximum dry matter and protein content of strain SpT, 2586 mg/1 and 67%, respectively was obtained in medium containing 15 g/1 of NaHCO3, while strain SpJ yielded 2651.5 mg/1, 60% protein at 10 g/1 of NaHCO3. NaHCO3 did not only promote the algal growth, but regulate the pH in the medium. In outdoor culture, these two strains grew well at all levels of sodium bicarbogulate , i.e. 5, 10 and 15 mg/1. Strain SpT and SpJ yielded at the average of 4725 mg/1 with 65-69% protein content and 3125 mg/1, with 57-60% protein, respectively. |
