Abstract
This present study was tried to evaluate the effect of anesthetic procedure during laparoscopic Al on heart rate (HR), respiration rate (RR) and rectal temperature (RT) of twenty female eld's deer . The deer was anesthetized with xylazine HCI (0.5-1 mg/kg) - ketamine HCI (5mg/kg) and maintained with isoflurane. After anesthetized, animals were placed into 3 positions; sternal recumbency for endotracheal intubation (S1) , lateral recumbency during surgical area preparation(S2) to perform laparoscoic Al procedure and dorsal recumbency with head down and legs lifting (S3). The results revealed that HR in each position were 62.2+23.7,55.0+15.4,65.9+25.6 beats/min respectively , RR in each position were 22.1+12.3,19.7+11.3,10.6+5.0 times/min respectively, and RT in each position were 102.7+1.7,102.2+1.6,100.7+1.1 Fahrenheit, respectively. The results showed that RR and RT of S3 significantly (P<0.01) differed from S1 and S2 . Furthermore, the HR during S1 and S3 of deers injected by hand were significantly higher than the darting. This finding will aid in the development of the safe and effective anesthetic protocol for using in laparoscopic Al in eld's deer in the future.
