หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Effect of Feeding Prosopis julifl ora Pods and Leaves on Performance and Carcass Characteristics of Afar Sheep) ผู้เขียน: Ahmed Seid Ali, ดร.สายัณห์ ทัดศรี, ศาสตราจารย์ , ดร.สราวุธ รุ่งเมฆารัตน์, ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ , Kriengki Kaewtrakulpong สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractTwenty Afar male sheep with initial mean body weight ? SD of 17.87 ? 1.19 kg were used to evaluate the effect of replacing commercial feed with Prosopis julifl ora pods and leaves on growth performance, carcass and meat quality characteristics. Animals were equally divided into four dietary treatment groups for 120 d (Rhode grass hay (RGH), RGH + 300 g ground P. julifl ora pods (PJP), RGH + 150 g each ground P. julifl ora pods and leaves mix (PJPLM) and RGH + 300 g commercial concentrate mix (CCM) per head per day). Total dry matter and crude protein intakes increased (P < 0.05) in treatments supplemented with ground PJP and CCM. The average weight gain and meat quality parameters obtained by supplementing with 300 g ground PJP were signifi cantly higher than the RGH and PJPLM treatment groups, but were comparable with that of CCM. The present study demonstrated the potential of using PJP for Afar lambs without adverse effects on growth and carcass characteristics. However, the intake of PJP reduced when mixed with leaves and this indicates the leaves are unpalatable. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Growth, Biomass Productivity and Energy Characteristics of Prosopis julifl ora (Sw.) DC. and Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) De Wit in Afar Region, Ethiopia) ผู้เขียน: Ahmed Seid Ali, ดร.สายัณห์ ทัดศรี, ศาสตราจารย์ , ดร.สราวุธ รุ่งเมฆารัตน์, ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ , ดร.เกรียงไกร แก้วตระกูลพงษ์, ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractThe performance of Prosopis julifl ora and Leucaena leucocephala was investigated at plant spacings of 1 ? 0.5, 1 ? 1, 1 ? 1.5, 1 ? 2 and 1 ? 2.5 m corresponding to a tree density of 20,000, 10,000, 6,666, 5,000 and 4,000 ha?1, respectively, to identify the most suitable plant spacing for the optimum biomass harvest per unit area. The overall performance of L. leucocephala was superior to P. julifl ora under most parameters measured, except for the calorifi c value. The performance of both species in terms of the plant height, stem diameter and number of trunks was affected by the population density at age 6 mths and there were signifi cant increases at wider spacings (1 ? 2 and 1 ? 2.5 m) when the age advanced to 12 mth. There were signifi cant differences in the biomass production per tree and better total above ground biomass results were obtained with plantings at wider spacings at both 6 and 12 mth of age. However, the total above ground biomass yield per hectare of both species increased markedly with increasing plant density at both 6 and 12 mth of age and this revealed that both species can be grown at closer spacing (1 ? 0.5 m). |
